Anyone else a wheelchair racer (er, downhill only) ? I'm just fitting my chair (manual/rigid frame/ Quickie / 24x1 3/8"/ P2?? Not sure, it's s/hand) with a speedomter, yesssss. Then I just gotta find me a big, big hill with no abs standin in the way (y do people never give a w/chair enuff space? an' den dey get angry when dey feet get run over!? Duh.)
P.S can't get smileys/tags with my browser, bummer.

Hello there, well sure I can keep the site goin. I like a post or two, or two hundred when I'm well enuff (got severe ME).
Gotta sort out a technical problem 1st though. I log in to GLAD o.k, but when I want to post, it won't let me (coz it's already 4gotten that I'm logged in-grrrr). So until that's sorted (I sent an e-mail to Jo about it), I'll have to post everything here, is that o.k Taz?
Meanwhile, why don't you tell me about y'self? Ever speeded in a wh-ch (u ain't lived til u have yunno). Ever been drunk as f**k in a w-ch? (that's pretty good too).

confusion? Join the club hun. Jo, check your glad e-mail there's an important message waiting for you. Hi Taz :wave (is there a pic. for that? worth a try anyway). Yeah, it's hard pushing yourself around in a manual w/ch at first, especially if you have a condition like c.f.s which makes you exhausted. But after a few months your muscles will build up, and it won't be such a struggle. I've been freewheelin for 10 months now, and have grown confident in my chair, and can handle it pretty well (people still make jokes about being a learner driver and all that, grrrrr). When I want to learn a new manouver (I don't like the word "trick" because it suggests that us w/ch users are performing monkeys and not ), I try it out first at home, with a bean bag or two behind my w/ch. Then, if I tip over backwards (the most commo fall for me) then I have a crash pad. The pad gives me the confidence to try out new manouvers that I otherwise would not have done. By the way, I'd be interested to know if you have found some good w/ch gloves yet, o don't you use them? I've searched all over the place, but haven't managed to find one pair that is right for the job. I'm in the early stages of designing and producing my own pair at home. I only have a needle and thread, but I think it'll be enough. Well, I gotta go before I put everyone to sleep. Love n' hugs
