Well, I'm only a month late responding to this post, but I'll give my 2 cents anyway. ;D I agree that most able bodied people do think of disabled people as a-sexual. For me, I don't know if I'm just unattractive or whether people just see the white cane and nothing else. How is a poor VI girl supposed to know if somebody's staring at me in a good way or if they're just staring like everybody else? Since no one's ever really 'approached' me I'm left to assume the latter.

Grrr... that makes me mad!! Its VERY ture though. Its funny becasue this is actually some of the stuff we talked about in Manchester. About how forinstance whne me and Fran are out they just assume that i am her carer .. and if they are 'remotly' openminded they will think i am her friend. Never mind that fact that she is more my carer than i am hers!!! lol .. you should see us walk about, we look soooo funny! Any whoo, we digress! I would love to hear oments or opinions about this, from any one really. I started writing the artical but i got writers block and i would rather use experances of people rather than just what i have seen/been though.
People are so desprate to work out 'what' we are they dont give a single thought to our sencual side, the fact that we might need love or be married or have kids ... and hever forbid ... be GAY!! Any way, all thoughts welcome!! Jo xx
