5-8 June 2003 at the National Film Theatre, London The Disability Film Festival is a unique and inspiring showcase of the talent of disabled filmmakers. Widely diverse in style and content, the 61 films in the current programme have in common the clear creative ownership of disabled people. Now in its 5th year, the festival continues to capture the imagination of an international audience and brings together filmmakers, filmgoers and industry professionals to meet, exchange feedback, network and socialise. Increasingly the festival has become a hotbed of debate, challenging the exclusion of disabled people either on screen or as filmmakers, still marginalised, medicalised or under the microscope.
