I had the same problem with some board members since the upgrade. Get them to e-mail their password and username to you and then change the password in their profile using the one they have sent you.
This has worked on every occasion for me.

Sorry you haven't gotten a reply before now, things are pretty hectic around here at the moment
Anyways, make sure that they are using their username, and not their display name. Also, it has to be in the right case, and if they put a space in when they signed up, this is shown in the username as an _ eg, if i signed up with the username wanting to be:
John Smith
my actual username would be:
John_Smith
and say i changed my display name to:
NoBody
my username would still be:
John_Smith

or people can remain singed in, + then there will be no probs in signing in.
