Jo, ru sure the site is real? I think it's a project by students, not a company selling products (cos' it says something about a marketing project at the bottom of the page).
It's a great idea though. Some students at a London Art/Design college did a similar thing. They took equipment used by disabled people, and improved it aesthetically, and/or technically. The students worked with disabled users of the equipment throughout the project, so they knew exactly what was needed/wanted. The results were on show in an exhibition at the college in central London about 4/5 months ago. I saw an article in the Big Issue about it, and went along. It was great. Being a w/chair and crutches user, I was most interested in those two items. The w/chair was a kind of Inspector Gadget style chair, with all kinds of extras that you might need. It was humorous, rather than practical.
The crutches, for me, were the star of the show. They looked great, and presumably are just as good to use as to look at. Black and matt silver, high-tech looking, bit like a really expensive mountain bike-so good looking, you could drool over the design!
The hand grip was totally ergonomic (exactly fiting the body), and even had a piece cut out, I think, to reduce pressure on the nerves, and therefore long-term damage. Also, there was some kind of spring or suspension system on the feet. Not sure exactly, but some such thing had been added.
Hopefully, they will go into large-scale production, and sold commercially soon. Perhaps I'll write to the college, and ask about their progress.
