whoops..the first one didn't work coz I hit the enter button by mistake. Bloomin twitches (spasms I think they're called?).
Anyway............
It wasn't going to be a great christmas for me this year.
But, I decided I was still going to enjoy myself, coz I had Pepsi, my cat, and the t.v+ internet. I was going to get a stocking full of cat toys+treats for Pepsi, and sit down with my meals on wheels Christmas lunch and watch Chicken Run on t.v.
But now Pepsi has disappeared (I think she's been snatched) and the other stuff won't be the same without her. Suddenly I'm facing Christmas alone, and I don't like it.
When I first moved into my street (Mar 02), I bumped into Pepsi, and she was so friendly, I thought how lucky her owners must be to have her. As time went on, I got to knowPepsi better, and she began to visit me.
I noticed how shabby her coat was, how itchy she was, and why was she almost always on the street, hiding under a car by herself. I asked neighboys about who she lived wih. They explained that the original owners had moved to |Spain, and let out the flat, and Pepsi came with the flat, as a rental. So whoever lived there was her owner. The curret owners were obviously not taking care of Pepsi, so when she moved herself in to myflat, I didn't object.
I've always liked animals, and Pepsi needed a proper home, so it seemed like a good idea. A lot of the neighbours agreed.
Not Pepsi's "owners" though. For a while, they kept ripping off her new tag, her flea collar (I got it, her old one was disgusting and not working anymore).
They also "snatched" her back a few times. I know that they kept her indoors for several days solid. I know Pepsi hates this, she likes to pop outside regularly. And I'm sure Pepsi would have come over to see what I was up to (I'm only 3 doors down). I think they'd got sick of the mice and wanted Pepsi back to sort it out. That's why they shut her in, to make sure she got as many as possible.
After a few months though, this sudden interest in Pepsi (though not her welfare) waned, and Pepsi's choice of home was respected.
Now it seems like it's started again, just in time for Christmas too. When I went to let Pepsi in this morning (she usually goes out at night, presumably to hunt and visit the park) she wasn't there. I asked a youngster in the street if he had seen her. He said yes, earlier, but then she went inside someone's house. I thought one of the kids in my sret had probably taken Pepsi in their flat so I wasn't worried. Pepsi can be very friendly so she is popular with the kids.
Later on when Pepsi still hadn't returned for her breakfast, I went out and asked around. Nothing.
They've snatched her back again haven't they? Christmas, alone, without my "furry girl" who follows me down the street walking proudly by my chair.
Why can't these people respect Pepsi's choice, and realise that they can't treat a cat like that and still think that the cat should stay, that they OWN it like a machine, a mouse killing machine.
If Pepsi is visiting these people of her own free will, and can leave whenver she wants to (as she can with me, she just wakes me up by miaowing gently in my ear, and then wait's patiently by the bed for me to slowly get up, then she leads me to the kitchen window and jumps up and again miaows, only a different one this time, a "hey, open the window" mioauw. She's a cool cat ain't she?!), then that's o.k It make's me sad to be without her, but I must respect her rights.
But I don't think that's the case. What do I do?
