Second London Disabled Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Conference
Thursday 10th July 2003
at 336 Conference Centre Brixton Road
London SW9
10am to 4.30pm
Following on from our conference last year this second conference (held in European Year of Disabled People) will be a chance to once again get together, and to go forward together.
Some of the issues which came out of the 2002 conference were :
• acknowledging our existence
• challenging stereotypes i.e. body beautiful
• how to challenge organisations within the disability movement and non disabled LGBT community
• safety – how to achieve it
• opposing homophobic attitudes
• our connections to spiritual life
• a chance to celebrate our lives
• creating inclusion
The conference report was sent to all participants, LGBT organisations, London government and those we seek to influence.
