for those of you who dont know me i'm taz!1 yes the poet!! lol i have fm (fibromyalgia) and ive had it for about 7 years. i'm qiute lucky as i do manage to work most of the time anyway!! its a little easier for me now as i have learnt to cope better than some of you who haven't had your illness as long. anyway my story is about my last job! I was in hastings and i got a job as a street cleaner, not the best of jobs but it paid well!! i told them about my illness and they were ok at first they also knew i am gay! so everything was cool untill i fell ill with a thraot infection and well it knocked me off my feet and then having fm my imune system went down and i was very poorly and i had about 6 weeks off work with one thing after another! anyway i stated to get depressed and then my employer sacked me for being sick!! the check of it! unfortunately i wasn't with the company long enough to do anything about it so i would like all of to bear that in mind if you do work! there is a rule that if your not with a company for more than 3 months you cant sue them!! big ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lots of love and hugs taz xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Taz, you could of used the DDA... Although you cant sue for unfair dismissal, you can sue for that kind of thing under the DDA (disability discrimination act). Your sickness has to be related to your impairment, which your's was, and you must sue within three months (less one day) of the incident. Gemma
